  • Graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen with a 1st class degree in Physiotherapy
  • NHS rotational physiotherapist at York Hospital. Gained experience in a wide range of clinical areas including stroke rehabilitation, care of the elderly, respiratory and the intensive care unit
  • Worked collaboratively with consultants, surgeons, occupational and speech and language therapists, community care and therapy teams
  • Working in a busy musculoskeletal outpatient department allowed me to hone and develop my skills in this clinical area of interest
  •  As the lead physio of the osteoarthritis services for York and the surrounding area, I lead education sessions, gym rehabilitation classes and referred on for further medical input as required
  • I was responsible for leading additional gym rehabilitation classes including lower limb injuries, ACL rehabilitation and the management of back pain which involved working with the pain management team

  • Six years ago I moved to work full time at a private sports injury clinic which has allowed me to enhance and develop my knowledge, assessment and treatment skills of MSK injuries and conditions
  •  I continued to work closely with other therapists and professionals including consultants, GPs, clinical exercise physiologists, personal trainers and coaches
  •  I have helped to organise regular in-service training sessions for my colleagues and created links with other medical professionals, such as doctors specialising in the menopause, to provide a holistic approach to care

  • I am an elite mountain runner, and have represented Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Scotland for over 15 years
  • As a junior I was also a competitive swimmer and qualified swimming coach and competed in a variety of sports including triathlon
  • I take the personal knowledge and skills that I have learned from my own training and racing into my physiotherapy practice, helping my clients achieve their own personal goals - whether its to walk 100m pain free or compete at World class level
  • Learning from my own training mistakes and injuries helps me guide clients on their own rehabilitation journey.
  • I understand the importance of achieving your goals – however big or small you may think they are – taking a collaborative approach to the rehabilitation process
  • I am as happy talking about anything sports related as I am about arts, crafts and baking (my de-stress relaxing hobbies!)
